An 18-year-old man in New Jersey was reportedly arrested ‘without incident’ on a recent Wednesday when police executed a warrant at his residence. The man is the third person who has been taken into police custody in connection with a particular incident. The defendants are facing criminal charges regarding what police say was an unsanctioned car rally.
The young man is accused of rioting and encouraging people to construct roadblocks and to do burnouts in their vehicles. The roadblocks are said to have interfered with the police department’s ability to execute response to emergency situations. Police also say that the riot spawned chaos in the streets.
Several car accidents occurred
In the immediate aftermath of the alleged H2Oi rally, numerous car accidents occurred. Sadly, one collision resulted in two fatalities. Authorities say that several storefronts in the area also incurred damage during the riot in the streets.
Police say they are searching for another person who is accused of aggravated assault against a police officer. The 18-year-old, as well as all other people who are facing criminal charges in connection with this incident, will have an opportunity to refute the charges in court. In such cases, it is wise to consult a New Jersey criminal defense attorney for guidance before proceedings begin.
